Dr. Lawing provides pre-hire/post-conditional offer psychological evaluations as well as fitness for duty evaluations for a variety of high risk professions including: officers for state highway patrol, police and sheriff's departments, federal agents or employees, fire departments, airport personnel, emergency medical responders and paramedics, and correctional or custody officers. Each individual is screened for maladaptive personality, behavioral, emotional and/or psychiatric functioning that would prevent him/her from functioning in the best interests of the public.

Dr. Lawing provides an in-depth assessment of each applicant, which includes a thorough clinical interview. She seeks to gather as much critical data as possible. Information gleaned from the applicant, behavioral observations, review of psychological testing and interview, as well as information from the background and/or polygraph, are integrated with test data to make a sound determination of suitability. Only the most valid and reliable psychological tests are used in the selection process.

Dr. Lawing is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, American Psychological Association Division 18: Police and Public Safety, as well as the Society for Criminal and Police Psychology.
